Zagreb Design Week · Studio window
A paper installation
For Zagreb Design Week the studio window became a paper installation: torn sage and blue paper, layered by hand, between the studio and the street.

For Zagreb Design Week the studio window became a paper installation: torn sage and blue paper, layered by hand, between the studio and the street.

Two papers, one sheet. Each is made partly from what is left over in food production – kiwi in one, lavender in the other. Joined by hand, they became a third paper. That is how I read this year’s theme, Friction: ideas coming from different directions and arriving at something new.
On 9 September the studio opened for the evening WHAT IS IT made of. The menu followed the paper: lavender-kiwi bliss balls, lavender-lemon jelly hearts, lavender cookies and lemonade with lavender ice cubes. Every guest left with a piece of the joined paper, dry-stamped with the studio seal, and a sprig of lavender.
